Why we
started

Arellis Energy was founded on a simple observation: South Australia has one of the highest rates of household rooftop solar in the world, but much of it arrives at the same time each day, and there is limited storage close to where it is made to hold it for the evening. The big transmission-scale batteries take years to plan and connect. Country towns need storage close to where the power is made and used. We develop community-scale batteries. By community-scale we mean batteries under 5MW, sized to fit the local network rather than the transmission grid.

Today we have more than 20+ sites in our development pipeline across six South Australian regions: the Barossa, the Adelaide Hills, the Limestone Coast, the Murraylands, the Mid North and the Yorke Peninsula - representing an estimated capital value of more than $130 million if all pipeline projects are built.

Arellis Energy is a South Australian-owned company, founded and run by South Australians. Our team lives here. Our land agreements are long-term, typically 20 years, with options to extend, and each project is held by its own dedicated project company. While we develop each project, you deal with us directly, locally.
